The workers were treated to a hearty meal consisting of barbecue chicken and ribs, dirty rice, baked beans, pickles, toast, and peach cobbler for dessert. Everyone, including the staff, enjoyed the food and the company!
After the meal, Father Tolentino bravely climbed the scaffolding to see the work up close.
Buzzy Ribbeck and Stephen Frei demonstrating the strength and durability of the protective glass by forcefully driving a 2x4 lumber onto the window.
Stephen explains that the tempered glass is four times thicker than the glass on the side and back of your car. Although it isn't bullet proof, it is vandal proof and strong enough to withstand a category 5 hurricane. Best of all, it will stay clear and transparent, unlike the previous ones we had.
Buzzy explains that the windows will also be water tight. They've added layers and layers of protection - impermeable rubber membrane, copper flashing and cement mortar mix top - to prevent water intrusion into the building through the windows.
Stay tuned for more updates!
